A new rhythm for The Vethrak Requiem, with Book Five coming December 1.
The next Vethrak story will arrive whole.
Starting this month, I’m moving from daily shorts that build on one another to one complete story each week. Each weekly story will have its own beginning, its own pressure, and an ending that belongs to that story.
You won’t need yesterday’s installment open beside it. You won’t need to catch up on a string of posts before you can settle into the next one.
That’s the change: a complete piece of fiction you can read in one sitting, once a week.
The connected daily shorts have given us a way to spend time in the Vethrak universe a little at a time. The weekly format gives each visit a different shape. A problem can develop, a choice can carry weight, and the consequence can land before the story ends.
There will still be a wider universe beyond the page. There will still be people trying to do their jobs under pressure, decisions with imperfect answers, and the practical work that keeps a ship and its crew moving. Each story will give you enough to enter that moment and follow it through.
You can read every week. You can miss a week and return for the next story without needing to reconstruct what happened in between. The connection will come through the world and its people, while each story stands on its own.
November is a good time to make that shift. The Reclaimed Stars, Book Five of The Vethrak Requiem, is scheduled for Kindle release on December 1, 2026.
This month’s weekly stories will connect with its characters and world. They’ll offer their own incidents and consequences without giving away the novel’s turns. You won’t need to have read Book Five to understand them, and their endings won’t depend on buying the book.
The smaller scale matters here. A campaign contains more than the moments when weapons fire. It also contains the people checking a report, repairing equipment, weighing evidence, or making sure something gets where it needs to go. Those pressures can carry a story of their own. November’s fiction will make room for them.
If you’ve been following the novels, this is an invitation to spend more time in that world as December approaches. If the newsletter is your first encounter with Vethrak, the weekly stories will give you a place to step inside without a reading assignment first.
Book news and occasional author updates may still appear between stories. The fiction itself is moving to a weekly rhythm. One complete story at a time.
The next time we step aboard, we’ll stay long enough to see what the choice costs.
